“We are excited to be the “Fruitcakes on the Radio.” We’ve been friends since junior high, growing up in Duncanville, Texas. In the early 90s, our high school had a good group of young Parrotheads (no doubt influenced by some parents of the 70s), and we started soaking up what seemed like an endless supply of Buffett albums from the 70s and 80s. Matt remembers renting Jimmy’s “Live by the Bay” on VHS (he may still have a copy) from the local Blockbuster (remember those?) and knowing immediately that he had to attend a live concert (which we talk about on air). During college, we were roommates in Austin, Texas, which proved to be an excellent location to continue our Parrothead studies. Though our families live in separate Texas towns (Grapevine for Clint and Midland for Matt), we get together a few times each year to make our own Margaritaville, whether sailing Clint’s sailboat on Lake Grapevine, taking a trip to Key West, or simply enjoyin’ some good company in a lawnchair wherever we happen to find ourselves. We hope you enjoy our playlist as much was we enjoyed coming up with it.”
