Today, CMT premieres a breathtaking new video for Jimmy Buffett’s inspiring new single, “Bubbles Up.” Laid over a watery backdrop, the video features footage of Buffett at work and at play, enjoying the things he loved the most — from adventures on (and under) the water to taking the stage and bringing happiness to fans of all ages around the world.
“Just know that you are loved, there is light up above, and joy, there’s always enough,” Buffett sings. Written by Buffett and “honorary Coral Reefer,” Will Kimbrough, the poignant song serves as a message of hope for times when the going gets scary or tough.
In a moving tribute to Buffett posted on Twitter, Paul McCartney called out “Bubbles Up” as one of his favorite songs from the new record.
“One [new track], in particular, I loved was the song, ‘Bubbles Up,’” McCartney wrote. “And I told him that not only was the song great but the vocal was probably the best I’ve heard him sing ever. He turned a diving phrase that is used to train people underwater into a metaphor for life when you’re confused and don’t know where you are just follow the bubbles – they’ll take you up to the surface and straighten you out right away.”
“Bubbles Up,” out now on all popular streaming sites, will be available on Buffett’s upcoming album, Equal Strain On All Parts (out via Mailboat Records/Sun Records on November 3; preorder here).
Fans can watch “Bubbles Up” playing all day across CMT platforms – CMT, CMT Music, and CMT Equal Play (Pluto TV), as well as catch the video playing on billboards in Times Square at 12PM, 4:30 ET TODAY!
