Watermelons + Margaritas = Good Times

Watermelon reminds us of the best summer picnics, our most carefree times when school was out and the only thing to do was run around barefoot on the grass. And with this recipe, you can be transported back to easy breezy childhood summers plus some alcohol, for an extra-special grownup treat.

You can’t miss out on these margarita soaked watermelon wedges… just don’t let any kids get their hands on these babies. Served ice cold with salt, these slices are so refreshing and delicious, you won’t want to stop eating them! Also, you can control the amount of booze in these, depending on your mood or the mood of the party. So what are you waiting for? They’re so easy to make that in the time it took you to read this, you could already be tipsy and running around on the grass with bare feet.

Ingredients
1 small seedless watermelon – red or yellow, quartered and cut into 1-inch thick wedges
1 cup sugar
Âľ cup water
½ cup tequila
ÂĽ cup Triple Sec
2 limes
Flaked sea salt or coarse salt

Make It
Arrange watermelon in a single layer in two baking dishes. Bring sugar and water to boil in small saucepan. Cook until sugar dissolves, then reduce heat and add tequila and triple sec. Let cool slightly. Pour syrup over watermelon wedges, and refrigerate for 12-24 hours. Remove wedges and arrange on plate. Squeeze limes over melon and season with salt. Pro-tip: pierce them with a popsicle stick at the rind for easier carrying and eating.

Does it get better than these slices? You tell us.
