Last month the Margaritaville University college ambassadors were challenged to submit their best burger recipe. A hungry panel of Margaritaville judges chose 5 winners to be featured on Margaritaville.com.

College: University of Northern Colorado

Best thing about being part of Margaritaville University: Being able to show and share my passion and love for Jimmy Buffet and Margaritaville with my fellow bears at the University of Northern Colorado.

Inspiration for my recipe: My Dad and the famous Florida Keys highway.

If I could enjoy my burger anywhere in the world it would be: In Maui, Hawaii, because that is where my Margaritaville is.

Make Samantha’s A1A Burger:

Named after the famous highway in the Florida Keys, this recipe is beautiful in its simplicity, but amazing to eat. Simply A1 Steak Sauce and fresh slices of Avocado make up the A1A that gives it its name. We occasionally get a little tricky here in Colorado and substitute Buffalo for regular hamburger, but that could be hard to find in the Keys. I love this burger most of all because it is my Dad’s favorite.
