This week’s Radio Margaritaville Guest DJ is Liz Becker:
“I grew up listening to Jimmy Buffett songs on the radio, and I’ve always felt compelled to sing along. In 1997, I went to my first Jimmy Buffett concert and shortly after that I found myself walking across the tarmac at Key West International Airport feeling the hot, tropical air wafting up off the pavement and surrounding me in a warm, welcoming embrace. Breathing in the tropical air, I knew I had found my very own Margaritaville, and my life would never be the same again. I love my “pirate’s life” by the sea in Guilford, Connecticut. But hearing those songs, reading the stories about Tully Mars and Mr. Twain, Desdemona and lunches that last forever has given me an appreciation for far off places, campfires with good friends and old guitars, and a love of adventure. And now, my early days of listening to the radio have come full circle. It’s an honor and a thrill to be a “Fruitcake on the Radio.” I hope you enjoy the songs I’ve chosen to share with you, and I hope they bring you closer to your own version of Margaritaville—wherever that is!”
Enjoy Liz’s show starting Wednesday, September 27, at 11pm ET/8pm PT.
You can also listen again this Friday at 9am ET, Sunday at 11pm ET and Monday at 9pm ET on SiriusXM’s Radio Margaritaville Ch. 24 AND here:
