It’s time to lace up your running shoes and grab your guitar because Margaritaville Run officially announces its return in 2023.
The second annual Margaritaville Run Series will return to Orlando on Saturday, September 30th for the Margaritaville Run Orlando 5K & 10K, along with a new, custom 12-week Margaritaville Run Challenge training program.
Poolside cocktails await, activities abound, and scenic views of beaches, water, and city skylines are all part of the Margaritaville Run experience. From the pre-race happy hour to the post-race party, Margaritaville Run Orlando is sure to be one of the must-attend events of the year.
“At the Margaritaville Run, we believe that life is all about good times, not fast times. That’s why our event is the ultimate intersection of run and fun,” said Jamie Monroe, Race Director. “Whether you’re a seasoned runner or a first-time participant, you’ll love escaping to paradise and completing the distance with us. Our tropical-inspired course and post-race beach party are just a few of the unique features that set the Margaritaville Run apart from other races, not to mention all of our incredible race swag. So come join us and embody the active Margaritaville lifestyle – we can’t wait to raise a margarita glass with you!”
Runners in the Orlando event on September 30th will have the choice between running a 5K (3.1 miles) or a new 10K (6.2 miles) route around a scenic lake on the island-inspired resort property. This course meanders past resort cottages, private villas, and the shops at the Sunset Walk. All runners will receive a race t-shirt and medal, hotel drink specials, and access to a post-race expo with live music. Runners are also encouraged to make it a weekend by taking advantage of a courtesy room rate with a special $100 resort credit.
For those who want to go the extra #MargaritavilleMile, the virtual run includes something new! The revamped Margaritaville Challenge will take you on a virtual road trip from Miami to Key West. The challenge comes with an official Margaritaville hoodie, a run t-shirt, finisher medal, margarita-making kit, race number bib, and a 12-week training plan that guides you on your 160-mile goal journey. Other virtual participation options include “It’s Five Kilometers Somewhere”, a virtual 3.1-mile run, or a medal-only package.
In 2023, the Margaritaville Run Series is committing to donating a portion of the proceeds to Give Kids The World. At Give Kids The World Village, every child and their family is treated to accommodations, transportation, donated theme park tickets, all meals and snacks, nightly entertainment, and more. Since 1986, Give Kids The World has welcomed more than 176,000 families from all 50 states and 76 countries.
