Latitude Margaritaville Watersound in Bay County Opens More Amenities for Residents

A Jimmy Buffett-themed community in Bay County continues to gain momentum.

According to a June 19 news release, a handful of additional amenities now are open at Latitude Margaritaville Watersound, a resort for residents at least 55 years old on State 79 near the Panama City Beach area.

New amenities include a “Workin’ N’ Playin’ Center,” which includes the “Last Mango Theater,” as well as the new “Clayground Pottery Studio and Arts & Crafts Room,” a “Barkaritaville Pet Spa” and new sports courts.

“The first Latitude Town Square amenities opened to fanfare and fireworks,” the release reads. “They included a terraced amphitheater, thatched roof bandshell with full-size concert stage for the community’s robust program of live music, a jumbo screen for live streaming and recessed dance floor that provides a little cushion and spring for dancers.”

Latitude Margaritaville Watersound is being developed through a partnership between the St. Joe Company, Minto Communities USA and Margaritaville Holdings.

It is Minto’s third Latitude Margaritaville location, with the others in Daytona Beach and Hilton Head, South Carolina.

The local Latitude offers five home home collections that range from 1,210 square feet to 4,048 square feet. They are: Conch Cottage Collection, Caribbean Villas Collection, Beach and Island collection of single-family homes, and Vista Collection of two-story luxury homes.

Prices start in the $300,000s.

“The initial phase of Latitude Margaritaville Watersound is anticipated to include 3,500 homes, with nearly 2,200 contracted homes since sales began in 2021,” William Bullock, Minto USA president, said in the release. “There is tremendous potential for growth in this location and, based on the continuing strong demand for homes, we are well into design for the next section of homesites and amenities.”
