Evette, Others Break Ground For Margaritaville Vacation Residences Myrtle Beach

Dirt flew off the ceremonial shovels of Lt. Gov. Pamela Evette and other dignitaries Saturday afternoon, June 6.

And a big project took its next step forward.

The occasion was the ceremonial groundbreaking for Margaritaville Vacation Residences Myrtle Beach, a 271-unit, resort-style residential community in Arcadian Shores.

“What’s the best vacation market in the country?” said Art Falcone, CEO of project co-developer AmeriCraft Homes. “That is right here in Myrtle Beach. We’re so excited.”

Smiles and congratulations abounded as people gathered for the event and kickoff party to follow.

“This is very, very exciting,” said Patrick Marino, chairman and CEO of co-developer M Group Companies. “Like Art said, this was a vision and it’s exciting to see it come to life.”

Also making remarks was Evette, who has a home in Myrtle Beach, and is running for governor.

Saturday was all about tourism development for Evette, who related about speaking with S.C. Parks, Recreation and Tourism Director Duane Parrish.

“When we talk about these things, we look at the initial impact,” Evette said. “But we are South Carolina because we are growing, because we are doing things the right way. We know that it’s all the other jobs downstream that this impacts, the plumbers, the electricians, our builders, our carpenters.

“This is wonderful for this area.”

Evette said once all the units are sold, there would be about a $150 million economic impact on the area and about a hundred jobs during peak season.

To date, the community is 25 percent sold, with prices starting at $380,000. Construction on the first two buildings and all resort amenities are expected to be completed by late 2027.

Located within 0.3 miles from the beach, Margaritaville Vacation Residences will have one-, two- and three-bedroom condominiums with innovative floor plans and island-inspired decor.

Amenities will include a restaurant and lobby bar, a pool with private cabanas and tiki bar, a fitness center and a seasonal shuttle to and from the beach.

Owners who wish to rent their units when not being used will have access to on-site rental management programs.

Marino’s M Group had previously purchased the property.

“I can’t thank Margaritaville, Art and Patrick [enough],” Evette said in her remarks. “Patrick being a native here, not just South Carolina but Myrtle Beach, understanding what a great and special place this is.”

And now the construction goes forward.

“It’s not a light lift,” Marino said. “It’s a heavy lift. But we’re finally here. It’s unbelievable to see.”
