Last month the Margaritaville University college ambassadors were challenged to submit their best burger recipe. A hungry panel of Margaritaville judges chose the best of the best to be featured on Margaritaville.com.

Inspiration for my recipe: My favorite foods are spicy and sweet. Combining jalapeño poppers that my brother makes with my dad’s mango salsa recipe is the perfect combination.

If I could enjoy my burger anywhere in the world it would be: St. John, USVI

King of Somewhere Hot Burger

Mango salsa

  • 3 mangoes
  • 1 red bell pepper
  • 1/2 cup red onion
  • 1/4 cup cilantro
  • 1 jalapeño
  • 1 lime
  • Salt to taste

Chop the mangoes, pepper and onion and mix all ingredients together.

Jalapeño Popper

  • Stuff jalapeños with cream cheese and wrap with bacon

Burger

  • Place jalapeño popper in the middle of the hamburger patty
  • Grill to your liking and add your favorite cheese

Top with the Mango Salsa and serve with black beans. If you’re over 21, this burger is best served with a LandShark.
