One of the most celebrated holidays at Margaritaville, National Hamburger Month returns to honor a true American icon – the burger.
Leading up to the month-long celebration in May, each Margaritaville chef created his or her own signature burger and submitted it to Margaritaville judges for consideration to be named Margaritaville’s featured burger for National Hamburger Month. Now through May 31st, select Margaritaville cafes across the country will be offering a California Grilled Cheeseburger, the winner of the 2017 National Hamburger Month contest.
The California Grilled Cheeseburger was created by Chef Lee from Margaritaville Atlantic City. It was a very close competition for this prestigious honor, but the California Grilled Cheeseburger – with its fresh ingredients, crispy applewood-smoked bacon, melted Monterey Jack Cheese, seasoned all-beef patty placed on grilled panini-style bread and topped with a grilled jalapeño pepper – took home the title.
About Chef Lee
Originally from Philadelphia, Chef Lee began cooking at the age of 15 in sandwich shops in the Delaware Valley area. Given the option by his father to either join the Navy or go to college, Lee chose to enroll in the culinary apprentice program at Bucks County Pennsylvania Community College. He has 20 years of experience in Atlantic city including Caesars Casino, the Atlantic Club Casino, and Ruth’s Chris Steak House.
Stop by select Margaritaville locations this month to enjoy this award-winning burger before it is gone. While at Margaritaville, you can also register to win a trip to Atlantic City – home of Chef Lee and the award-winning California Grilled Cheeseburger. Learn more about the sweepstakes here.
Happy National Hamburger Month!
