Postcard from Pensacola

My postcard from Pensacola…

Skipped out of the conference early and high-tailed it across the Panhandle to arrive at what must be the best, big white-sand beach in Florida — at the Margaritaville Hotel on Pensacola Beach. It’s a jaw-droppingly, breath-takingly beautiful spot!

Spent the first day rejuvenating in the warm, turquoise green waters of the Gulf of Mexico – floating out to sea with fishing terns and pelicans soaring overhead, and dolphins popping up on either side.

Ate succulent fresh fish tacos with a bucketful of LandSharks, and slept like a baby, before returning to the glimmering white beaches the following day.

Walked down to the Gulf Islands National Seashore Park, which is just to the South — it’s why Margaritaville can boast of 40 miles of pristine, white sandy beaches.

My true goal… Instagram a shot of that famous idealized beach film location from the movie “Contact” (look it up!).

Then I was back, doing my best mermaid impression in the glistening waves with my peeps (see photo below). Fins to the left, fins to the right – hey, dolphins have fins too, and I’m happiest surrounded by these true mermaids at Margaritaville!

Fins Up!
