Make It: Tropical Frozen Hot Cocoa

Mid-December is the perfect time of year to enjoy a cup of hot cocoa…you’re in full holiday mode, nothing goes better with cookies and decorating and the temperatures are frightful. It’s when cuddling up with a warm mug of comfort just becomes necessary. So, it’s fitting National Cocoa Day falls on December 13 and gives us a natural excuse for some chocolate indulgence. But, if there is white sand instead of snow out your window, or if you simply want to celebrate the holiday in the Margaritaville state of mind, we have a cool alternative for you.

Tropical Frozen Hot Cocoa
(Recipe makes 1 frozen concoction)

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 packet of your favorite hot cocoa mix
  • 1-2 pumps of toasted marshmallow syrup
  • Whipped cream
  • Toasted coconut flakes
  • Ice

Directions:

Fill your Frozen Concoction Maker or blender’s ice reservoir with ice then pour the milk, hot cocoa mix and syrup into the pitcher. Concoct until the mixture is smooth. Pour into your favorite mug, garnish with whipped cream and toasted coconut flakes and, if you’re lucky enough, enjoy in an adirondack chair with your toes in the sand!

If you are a traditionalist and would like a Margaritaville-inspired hot beverage, whip up a cup of your favorite hot cocoa mix and add the same tropical garnish! Our parrot mug is the perfect way to serve it.
